Vodafone Hungary has confirmed that it now has 200 5G base stations live in Budapest, marking the completion of the expansion plan it announced in October 2020.
The operator confirmed that its non-standalone (NSA) 5G network was accessible “in most of Budapest”, noting that by the end of March it plans to have activated a total of 300 5G base stations across Hungary’s major towns and cities.
TeleGeography notes that throughout 2020, Vodafone Hungary extended the reach of its 5G network to new settlements including Miskolc, Siofok and Szekesfehervar.
In a statement, Vodafone noted that its network would “enable teleworking and distance learning” as well as supporting “businesses – be it the largest manufacturing companies or small and medium-sized enterprises.”
